with the New Year, a final farewell

Bobby found his way into our hearts in 1997. He was a rescue from Ohio. What a silly little dog.
He hunted anything on 4 legs and was fearless. His first encounter with a woodchuck taught him which end to respect, and from that day on, woodchucks beware. The first time he chased a chipmunk into the underneath of our van and ripped out the working parts, taught us that Bobby was serious at his tasks.... yet there was the always the softer side, in which he found his way into all hearts, old and young, whoever he met.
And so with the passing of the old year, to the new, comes a passing of our irreplaceable friend.
Bobby will be missed by one and all.. This dog will surely be at heaven's gate, greeting one and all...

  2. There is a special book by Cynthia Rylant titled "Dog Heaven".
It paints a beautiful picture of what so many of us who are lovers of (and loved by)dogs instinctively know about our beloved companions.

    Blessings and sympathy.

  8. I can't begin to put into words my sadness for your loss. I felt as if I knew Bobby from your endearing stories and the twinkle in your eyes when you spoke of him. How lucky you were to share your life with him and Bobby was a lucky little fellow for living with you. He saved you from the invading chipmunks and varmints and in turn you gave him a loving home.

  12. Sweet Bobby, he'll always be in your heart, just like my Magic will always be in mine. These furry friends have a special way of making us love them unconditionally...maybe it's because they return that love ten fold. My thoughts are with you and Bobby and I hope his memory will always make you smile.

  15. Pat,

I'm so sorry to read of the passing of your beloved Bobby. There is nothing like a terrier to make one laugh and enjoy life. I'm sure he is still in your thoughts and heart. Thank you for sharing him with us; perhaps one day you'll make a Bobby dog from a great piece of shaggy mohair for us to love.

    Fondly,
