I decided yesterday that I wanted to make another new -old looking bear pattern. I'm hoping that I can finish before tomorrow nite.. I'm quite pleased with the results so far..This is how they begin.
I want so badly to be sitting on a beach somewhere...anywhere... so I painted this little sand pail for a special little someone to carry . It's the tiniest little pail. I do love the old sand pails that are so not in my price range anymore.... Two more days and counting ....

As an artist, I am always amazed at how often I can change my mind while creating ... this is another case in point. I thought that I had the traveling bear and his/oops, now a her, all worked out, but nope... I found this great vintage "Ireland" flag tucked away , and it was just perfect for an inspiration change. The bears have been out and about with their travels. I hope they make it home in time to get their pictures taken for the Update on Thurs...
This is a little gal that I just finished for a long overdue order. She's pretty sweet, I think. Now on to finishing these cuties for our Update this Thurs. It's crazy busy here in the Murphy Bear studio, but things are coming together quite well.

As I was wandering down the road on my usual walk, I noticed some signs of late summer ... soon the fall asters and goldenrod will be in full bloom. I do love the summer with it's carefree nature, but there's just something special about fall. With fall, comes the Ghoultide Gathering Show. Check out all the fabulous folk artist's that will be there. It's one of the best folk art shows in the country, and I am honored to be a part of such a grand event. Mark your calenders. This is one Halloween Show that no one should miss.
We've waited a long time, and it's finally been released!

Yummy little treasures for the suitcase....
And now that I'm on a suitcase kick, these little leather cases really make me smile. They're tiny, about 5" long, and made of leather. I picked them up a few years ago, ok, maybe more that a fewyears past. They could almost be called antique now.. Don't they look sweet with the tiny luggage labels? Yes, some deserving teds would love to take trips with these. Bears are coming along nicely for the upcoming website. Am hoping it will happen towards the end of July. I will keep you posted...
How sweet is this vintage suitcase. I think back to the days when you would travel with a small cosmetic case not unlike this one. When I found this, a few years ago, I knew that I would have to add the travel labels. What is it about graphic labels that makes me crazy? Some special little guy will be just right sitting inside this lovely thing. I am getting excited at the thought of filling it with vintage findings. Oh yes, I have a few little treasures already picked!
The Creative Connection Event: "Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman, Keynote Speaker “Confessions of a Pioneer Woman” Frontier Luncheon”" This Event which takes place in Minneapolis in September is just getting bigger and bigger... " Where Women Create" issue #8
with Jen Murphy and myself will be released soooon... and we will be signing at this HUGE event also... check it all out!
After a long hard day of gardening, this is the best.... I am beginning to get this overgrown garden under control, and that makes the lounging even sweeter. I have started a few pieces for a Summer Update... hopefully happening in a few weeks... now if I can just stay out of the garden. Bobby thinks naps are pretty great too...
