New Murphybears just in time for Earth Angels new website launch!!!!!

Such exciting news!!!! Earth Angels will be launching their new website on Tuesday, September 4th.. Murphybears will be joining the party, of course.

I have been working on some fun pieces to send Earth Angels, and this week I will be having some fun... It takes forever to get the bears to this point. I can hardly wait to see who they will be...oh me, oh my, oh me, whoever shall they be...

We returned to a garden full of bounty.. well, I must clarify.... tomatoes!
This salad has lentils, couscous, and of course cherry tomatoes.. can you actually find a use for all those tiny things...Ahhhh, Oscar loves 'em.
These roasted tomatoes are just our favorite, but it takes about 4 hrs.. yum.
I freeze them.. they're great on pizza, excellent in sauces too.. summer... such a season of plenty. I hope that your gardens are making you smile. Now, what to do with all that kale....

Welcome little one...

We have just returned from Minneapolis, and are so excited about the birth of Vita Ray. She is just the sweetest little bundle. There's nothing a sweet as a little baby, right? Congratulations Jen and Jay.

The road to a friend"s house is never long....

We took a road trip to Atlanta last month for our niece's wedding... and WHO else lives there... well, none other than my good friend Jody Battaglia.. It was such a quick trip, and we had such a sweet time. I wished we could have stayed longer. Here are just a few lovelies for you to enjoy, and I do mean ,this is just a small sampling of her treasures. Jody's mischeivious little flower girls So many great displays..

And then there are all the little "woodens" so artfully displayed.. these are in her kitchen.
If she hadnt checked my pockets before we left, these guys may have found their way to Michigan.. Thanks once again Jody. We had SUCH a great time!

Super summertime salad

Tomato Couscous

1/4 cup sun dried tomatoes-chop
12 oz green beans cut
1 cup pearl couscous
1 pt cherry tomatoes cut in half
1/2 cup chopped kalamata olives
1/2 cup parlsey- chopped I added 1/2 cup chopped basil too
1 lemon and 1 tsp sugar
2 Tbsp white balsamic or champagne vinegar
1 tbsp olive oli
1 tsp salt
1 can (15 oz) pinto beans drained
1/4 tsp salt and pepper
Cook green beans and then submerge into ice water. Cook couscous in 2 cup chicken broth until done.. about 5-10 mins. Drain and rinse several times

In large bowl grate lemon peel, then add juice of the 1 lemon. Stir in vinegar,oil, sugar, 1/4 tsp salt and pepper.Stir in chopped sun dried tomatoes, basil and parsley, couscous, tomatoes and beans. Yum! I love this stuff...

It was a misty morning today, and oh how we need a break from this heat. This was quite a sighting I thought, but by the time I actually found the camera, these 2 mama turkeys and their young'uns were a bit far away. There were so many of them, and all different sizes. Hope you can appreciate my poor attempt at capturing a bit of our wildlife..I can appreciate all those fabulous photos that I see and wonder..."how did they get that picture?" Ann Arbor Art Fair

The Ann Arbor Art Fair has been noted as one of the best in the country, and this year, I do believe is no exception. It's not too much of a stretch when I say that I am totally smitten with these birds by Jim Mullan of Florida. I try to avoid the large crowds of over 100,000 a day, but I may just have to check out these amazing birds tomorrow. The art fair has over 1000 exhibitors, and it really is pretty fantastic. You cannot see it all in one day. I ran across these photos quite by accident in the Detroit Free Press

We've been busy...

Where does the time go these days. A great visit from the fam had our undivided attention last week. Catching butterflies, frogs, lightening bugs, and even a trip to the reptile park. Could it get any better.. and who could resist holding that babe??? Thanks so much Kindra for making the trip. We had a super time.

Hot mama

The heat has been unbearable here in Michigan lately, as well as everwhere else. Yesterday a big storm blew in and knocked out our power. 350,000 folks without air, water, or electricity. made me stop and realize how lucky we were to have it restored in less than a day. No sewing for me... a day at the beach... well, kind of. How lucky that I had this luxurious pool filled and waiting for just this moment. How are you all beating this heat?
