Ok, so I cannot tell you how exciting this was.... and right in our very yard... not one but a pair of these rather prehistoric looking guys. They are huge!!! They are bigger than a crow, and in my book, that's Big. This is the real deal... the woody woodpecker guy, also known as pileated woodpecker... it was a great day!
I haven't seen them yet here in Texas-but I can hear them.
ReplyDeleteOur woodpeckers are VERY active this Spring.
Beautiful pictures! I have to drive to see these guys, they are always a treat. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHow incredible this is. Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you visited my blog so I could see your amazing work again, love the pictures of Italy too, esp. that foot!
xx
